This is one such Gujarati film for premier of which Producers had to take care of legal things by making sure they’re in-line with High court & Supreme court. Gandhi Play
Mahatma Gandhiji (Bapu) – The Father of Nation - who preached Peace and Non-violence to the world. A man with lean physique and wearing a simple half Dhoti, Gandhi Bapu, is perhaps the only human on the earth, who has earned honour, respect, love and adored by millions, not with influence of his power or wealth or greed to have a political gain, but for the love and work for his country. Some called him Mahatma, some called him a Saint and Some used to call him a Fakir; a person who dedicated more than 60 years of his life for freedom and well-being of his country and country-men. +

The play starts with a very impressive audio-visual about the similarities between Mohan
(Lord Krishna) and Mohandas (Gandhiji).
Before the trial, few people enter to oppose the trial and the advocate tries to calm
them down.
Gandhi Bapu enters reciting a (satirical) poem. The Trial starts and advocate ask
questions about:
- Strict rules of Ashram.
- Capital punishment of Bhagatsinh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.
- Extreme practices of Brahmcharya.
- Freedom of India is due to post world war-2 situations and not due to Gandhiji.
- Pro-Muslim attitude during Partition of India.
- Selection of Nehru over Sardar Patel as the first Prime Minister of Independent India.
- Insisting to release 2nd installment of 55 Crore rupees to Pakistan against the will of
Parliament members.
Gandhiji replies to all the questions (with the reference of few flashback scenes).
At the concluding part, contemporary relevance of Gandhian thoughts and message is
answered, which includes:
- The need of Basic Education and build one‟s character to understand what is right or
wrong, the do‟s and Don‟ts.
- The need to overcome one‟s fear and practice the way of truth. To always stand by
the truth.
- Be the change you want to see in the world !!
In the end, Gandhiji disappears and his voice reverberates – “I am not dead. I am and will
always be alive till my values are alive in my country-men”
